MUSICAL AND REPEATING GOLD POCKET WATCH Swiss, the movement attributed to Piguet et Meylan, No. 263, case No. 1722. Made circa 1825. Fine and rare, large, 18K gold, quarter-repeating, musical pocket watch with music playing on the hour or at will.

Four-body, "Empire", engine-turned with polished borders and bezel, bolt at 1 o`clock to lock the repeat and at 7 for the music. Hinged gilt brass cuvette with apertures for winding and hand-setting. Gold, small offset with radial champlevé Roman numerals on an engine-turned chapter ring, outer minute divisions, engine-turned center with applied gold foliage and outer foliate border, dial mask chased and engraved with foliate scrolls. Blued steel Breguet hands. 51 mm.(22```), gilt brass two-train, with foliate engraved standing barrel for the going train, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, flat balance spring, polished steel endplate, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Sur plateau musical movement, 27 tuned, steel vibrating blades acting on both sides of the pinned disc, music/silence lever at the edge of the cuvette beneath the back cover.
