JOHN BENNETT KEW OBSERVATORY A.82.2 MARKS SILVER CAROUSEL POCKET WATCH John Bennett, London, No.57011, "Maker to the late Queen Victoria", 65 & 64 Cheapside, London, case No. 43075. Made circa 1870. Very fine and rare, large and heavy, silver, open-face, keyless, pocket watch with Carousel.
Four-body, polished. silver cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary dial for the seconds. Blued steel spade hands. 43 mm., gilt brass three-quarter plate, 18 jewels, lateral lever escapement, going barrel, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel overcoiled balance spring, diamond endstone. gold meantime adjustment screws.
