ROLEX REF. 1675 GMT MASTER, TROPICAL DIAL, BOX AND PAPERS STEEL Rolex Oyster Perpetual, GMT Master, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified, No. 1951970, Ref. 1675. Made in 1969. Fine, two-time zone, center seconds, self-winding, water- resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with date, 24-hour bezel and hand and a stainless steel Rolex Oyster riveted-link bracelet. Accompanied by a Rolex box, punched warranty booklet, GMT instructions, punched Chronometer certificate, caseback sticker and hang tag with serial number.

Two-body, polished and brushed, brown bi-directional rotating bezel calibrated to 12 hours, screw-down Oyster crown. Tropical brown with luminous dot, baton and triangle indexes, outer minute track, date aperture. Steel luminous Mercedes hands, red 24hr hand. Cal. 1560, rhodium-plated, 26 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating freesprung Breguet balance spring, Microstella regulating screws.

Dial, case and movement signed. DIAM. 39 mm. THICKNESS 12 mm. Approx. overall length 155 mm. Launched in the 1930's, the 2508 was produced in two series, with oval pushers like the current example (1st generation) and later with rectangular pushers. As an added bonus the first generation case was larger coming in at 37 mm.while the latter only measures 35 mm. While most examples are found with the usual silver dials, the black dials are extremely rare. Found in different configurations, the current one, with its wonderful and rare silver gilt print and inner snail tachometer scale, is one of the nicest designs available.
