Patek, Philippe & Cie, Genève, No. 65022, case No. 65022, specially made for John B. Guttmann, Pensacola, Florida, circa 1880, pair of a special production of only 4 pieces. Rare 18-carat gold hunting cased watch with an early form of split second chronograph.
Four body massive "bassine et filet carrure plate" polished case. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with an offset chap-ter for hours and minutes, symetrical subsidiary seconds and outer arabic chronograph ring marked in red. Blued steel " spade" hands. Glazed 18', three quarter plate nick-el movement, "fausses-côtes" decoration, equilibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Visible chronograph work with the split second push piece on the band. In very good condition. Diam.: 52 mm.
