?Early Keyless Winding? Patek Philippe & Co, à Genève, No. 22438. Made circa 1860. Very fine and very rare, 18K gold hunting-cased pocket watch with Adrien Philippe?s first patented stem-wind and handsetting mechanism of 1845 without coasting.
C. Four-body, ?bassine et filet?, engine-turned and polished, flattopped winding crown. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 48 mm., 17???, frosted gilt, 15 jewels, wolf?s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement a moustache, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed, case stamped M&B. Diam. 45 mm.
