Patek Philippe & Cie., Geneve, N°861367, case N° 310932, completed in July 1965. Highly important 18K gold, keyless "grande complication", minute repeating, "grande and petite sonnerie" striking on three gongs, moon phase astronomical clock watch, with perpetual calendar, split second chronograph and instantaneous 30 minute recorder. In original fit-ted case with a specially printed instruction book.

Three piece massive "variee carrure plate" satine case. Gold mat silvered dial with applied gold indexes, outer Arabic minute and chronograph rings, subsidiary minute register with inner moon phase aperture, subsidiary seconds with outer calendar ring, apertures for the months and the days of the week. Gold "dauphines" hands. Very fine nickel 17" movement, 45 jewels, equilibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic ba-lance, three heat and cold isochronism and five position adjustments. Breguet balance spring with a swan neck micrometric index. Striking and repeating on three gongs, the slide and the bolts on the band for "silent/strike" and "grande/petite" sonnerie selection. The split second chronograph with a visible work, push pieces on the winding crown and on each side of the pendant. Signed on the dial, the case and the movement. In mint condition. Diam. 56 mm.

Notes

This is one of the most complicated watches ever made by Patek Philippe. Approximately 5 years were necessary to complete this watch which embodies 565 components, including 63 wheels and 58 springs. It is illustrated in the Patek Philippe book of pocket watches, page 247, fig. 229a and 229b.
