C. Four body, massive "bassine", polished. Hinged gold cuvette. D. Matt silver with applied white gold indexes. White gold "dauphines" hands. M. 19"', nickel plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 20 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, brass-invar Guillaume balance, adjusted extra by W. Beaufrere, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve and swan neck micrometric index. Signed on the dial, case and movement. Accompanied by Extract of the archives of the Observatory of Geneva. Diam. 60 mm.

Notes

Among the 157 chronometers entered at the contest organised at the Observatory of Geneva in 1900, the first classified was credited with 264.8 marks and the last one with 191.4, out of a total possible of 300 marks. With 186.3 marks only, this chronometer was classified. Therefore, the movement was left in stock. It was completed with the actual dial and case in the 1950's to be sold as a watch.
