Notes

Ref. ST 166.0077 While other diving watches used helium escape valves to solve the problem of the crystal ?popping? during decompression, Omega created an impenetrable case. They were able to create a vacuum in the case such that it would take 1000 years at normal atmospheric pressure for air to penetrate the case. One of these watches, tested in a pressure chamber, continued to function to 137 atmospheres, the equivalent of 1370 meters of depth.
