The ?Snoopy Award?, bestowed by astronauts, distinguishes those who have made significant contributions to the NASA program. OMEGA received the award in October 1970, for the performance of the Speedmaster Professional during the Gemini and Apollo programs, and, in particular, on the Apollo XII and XIII missions in November 1969 and April 1970. Cal. 1861 as used in the present watch was created in 1996 and is a rhodium-plated version of Cal. 861.
