D. Bicolored silver and black with applied baton indexes, luminous dots outer minute and fifth second divisions, subsidiary dials for the seconds, 12 hour and 30 minute registers. Luminous white ?baton? hands. M. Cal. 1863, rhodium-plated, ?fausses cotes? decoration, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balancespring, micrometer regulator. Notes

Ref. ST 345.0818 was produced in a limited edition of 500 examples for the Italian market in 1997, with two dial variations. The first was bicolor silver and black (as in the present lot); the second was white (see lot 238). This reference was the first watch to use the new caliber 1863 movement. The caliber 1863 is identical to calibre 863, with the exception of being rhodium-plated. Omega uses four-digit caliber numbers starting with a 1 (i.e. caliber 1863) to indicate that the movement is rhodium-plated, as opposed to pink or yellow goldplated (i.e. caliber 863).
