A fine and rare fountain pen. Montblanc Writers Edition Edgar Allan Poe : Limited to 17,000 pieces (1998). The barrel and cap made by black resin, pen body in midnight-blue marbled resin that evoke the sense of mystery and imagination of Poe’s works. The classic look is embellished by Victorian-style engraved gold rings circling the cap. The raven motif on its fountain nib is inspired by his best known poem "The Raven" which is a classic to every Anglo-Saxon world.

Montblanc created this pen in 1998 in honour of Edgar Allen Poe (1809-1849), in a limited and numbered edition of 17 000 examples. The seventh of Montblanc’s “Writers Edition”.

American writer, poet, editor, and literary critic. Poe is best known for his poetry and short stories, particularly his tales of mystery and the macabre. He is widely regarded as a central figure of Romanticism in the United States and of American literature as a whole, and he was one of the country’s earliest practitioners of the short story. He is also generally considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre and is further credited with contributing to the emerging genre of science fiction.
