C. Massive aluminium. D. Two tone silvered devised in 360 degrees with outer revolving chronograph ring, inner red decimal division and small Up-and- Down sector. M. 19 "', rhodium plate, " fausses cotes " decoration, 20 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self compensating balance spring with micrometric index. Split seconds recorder with visible work. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 90 mm.

Thanks to the siderographe, the Universal Time hour angle of any star can now be obtained by means of a simple addition or subtraction. By means of the "Sideral" - vernal equinox angle - marked in degrees on the dial; the straight ascension line of the star under consideration is subtracted or its straight co-ascension line expressed in degrees on the table is added. This instrument is described and illustrated in D. Marozzi and G. Foselli Longines pp 100-107 and in Norbert Eder Deck Watches and Chronovnetres de bord, Callwey, pp. 46 and 160.
