Not signed, attributable to Henry Capt, Geneva, circa 1810. Very fine and rare 18K gold and enamel, pearl and diamond-set harp with music.

C. A maiden, playing the guitar, finely painted on a small enamel panel (slightly restored) on the back of the instrument, outer champleve enamelled musical instruments, flowers, birds and further decoration against a black ground, the side panels with similar ornaments, small applied pearl-set decoration and a rose diamond set at the end of each rope. M. Gilt brass with pin-barrel and six stacked vibrating steel blades. In very good condition. Dim. '74 x 34 mm.

Notes

At the period this harp was made, Henry Capt and Piguet Meylan were producing such types of musical objects of vertu in Geneva. The musical movement with pin-barrel and stacked steel blades is very much in the style of those produced by Henry Capt.
