Double body, Directoire, the bezel with a gold paionne floral decoration over a black ground, the back enamel panel painted with a very fine scene depicting a soldier and a maiden taking an oath on the split-pearl inlaid altar of Love. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold arrow hands. M. Hinged gilt brass, flat calibre with fusee and barrel passing through the back plate and secured by a half-moon bridge, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. In very good condition. Diam. 53 mm.
