Daniel de Saint Let, Watchmaker to Her Majesty, London, made for the Islamic Market, circa 1800. Very fine and rare 18K varicoloured gold diamond-set pair-cased, quarter striking clock watch with double face matching chatelaine, in later fitted box.

C. Outer double body, the diamond-set bezel chased with a wreath of flowers, the back chased in high relief with military trophies, the border decoration matching that of the bezel. Inner double body, "bassine ", the back pierced and engraved with flowers and foliage, the pendant set with a large rose-cut diamond. Gold matching chatelaine chased with diamond-set military trophies on one side, chased with flowers and foliage on the reverse. D. White enamel with Turkish numerals. Diamond-set hands. M. Gilt-brass full plate double train, with turned pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, gilt-brass cock pierced and engraved with scrolling foliage. Striking train with fixed gilt-brass barrels and revolving arbor. Striking on a bell with strike-silent selection lever on the bezel. Gilt-brass dust-cap. Signed on the dial, dust-cap and back plate. Diam. 63 mm.
