Franz Jacob Nidermayr, Salzburg. Fine and unusual early 18th century watch movement with date and alarm, in a gilt-brass mounted rock crystal case made in the 17th century style.
C. Rock crystal circular with faceted band, foliate engraved gilt-brass mountings, loose ring pendant and finial. D. Silver with Roman numerals, centred with the silver alarm setting disc, the date aperture on apter "XII". M. I-linged gilt-brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, giltbrass English style cock. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 52 mm.
