Charles Frodsham, 84, Strand, London, AD.FMSZ No. 06233, with London hallmarks for 1881. Very fine 18K gold hunting cased, keyless minute repeating watch with 34 hour power reserve indication and free sprung special balance spring.

C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets " , polished, by Harrison Mill Frodsham (Master mark). Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel by Willis with Roman numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds and Up-and-Down scale. Blued steel "pear" hands. M. 21 "' , frosted and gilt, three-quarter plate, 18 jewels in screwed setting for the going train, fusee with chain and maintaining power, pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued steel duo-in-uno free sprung balance spring, diamond endstone. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. The winding crown has to be pulled to wind the watch and is released automatically when the watch is fully wound. Signed on the dial and the back plate. Diam. 60 mm.
