Ilbery, London, No. 6306, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1815. Very fine 18K gold and enamel centre seconds watch with special escapement.
C. Double body, the fixed bezel, pendant and bow, with champleve enamelled decoration, a fine pastoral scene of domestic life, with a man, in front of a horse, thrashing his young son, while his young daughter strives to refrain him. Gold hinged cuvette with engraved decoration. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Gold pierced hands. M. 22"', blued steel, Chinese caliber with free standing barrel, single wheel duplex escapement, three- arm steel balance with three trapezoidal weights and screws, fiat balance spring and diamond end-stone. Signed on the inner side of the cuvette. Diam. 60 mm.
