Swiss, No. 1485, made for the Chinese Market, circa 1820. "Homage to the Hero " Fine 18K gold and enamel, pearl set, quarter repeating watch with centre seconds.

Four body, "Empire" with split-pearl set bezels, pendant and bow, the band with azure and red champleve enamelled decoration the back inset with a fine enamel panel painted with a scene featuring Ulysse, Helen and Neoptoleme paying tribute to Achilles' tomb. Hinged glazed gold cuvette decorated with champleve enamelled flowers and butterfly over a blue ground. D. Silver engine-turned with applied gold Roman numerals, the centre engraved with a rosette. M. 20"', gilt brass, partly engraved with foliage, Lepine type calibre with free standing barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Diam. 55 mm.
