M.J. Pack, Bombay & Paris, No. 10384, Swiss, made for the Indian Market, circa 1890. Very fine 18K gold and enamel hunting cased, diamond set, moon phase astronomical, keyless minute repeating watch with triple calendar and chronograph.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", frosted, the cover centred with a painted champleve enamelled polo player within a diamond inlaid horseshoe, the back with a painted champleve enamelled diamond inlaid scene, depicting two horse riders playing polo. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the awarded prize at the 1889 Paris Exhibition and with technical details. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph rings, sunk subsidiary dials for the days of the week, the dates and the subsidiary seconds with moon phase aperture, aperture for the months. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 17"', frosted and gilt, 30 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Chronograph with visible work, and pushpiece in the band. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Signed on the cuvette. Diam. 53 mm
