Swiss, circa 1800. Fine silver watch with visible balance and double Republican calendar.
C. Double body Directoire, polished, the bezel with engine-turned decoration. D. Small eccentric white enamel with Breguet numerals, flanked by two small subsidiary white enamel dials for the 30 days of the Republican months and the days of the week, glazed balance aperture. Gilt brass hands. Silver engineturned dial plate, decorated with foliage and further ornaments. M. Hinged inverted gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, visible gilt brass continental cock with ruby end-stone, the regulator on the back plate engraved with foliage decoration. Diam. 54 mm.
