J. Lindquist, Stockholm, No. 5663, circa 1780. Very fine and rare, 20K gold, diamond-set skeleton calendar watch.

C. Double body, Louis XVI, with glazed back, the bezels with rose-cut diamond-set decoration a matching ribbon knot below the pendant. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, diamond-set half-hour divisions, outer Arabic minute ring and inner calendar ring. Rose-cut diamond-set Louis XV hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, the fully skeletonised back plate with engraved decoration, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm polished steel balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Signed on the dial and beneath the front plate. Diam. 48 mm.

Johan Lindquist, Stockhohn (? - 1779) Johan Lindquist, Master in Stockholm in 1745, he came to Paris to be trained in the workshop of Julien Le Roy Prom the beginning of 1750 to 1753. IIe returned to Stockholm where he is recorded as Master Watchmaker from 1754 to 1779. Appointed as Watchmaker to His Royal I-lighness of Sweden, he was one of the first makers to produce watches with French type movements
