Geneva, circa 1810. Very fine 18K gold and enamel form pearl-set pendant watch designed as a mandolin, suspended by a chain from a matching gold key designed as a lyre.
C. Double body, the blue enamelled back decorated with a branch of foliage and a musical score, sound board of scarlet flinque enamel inlaid with split pearls on the border, the sound hole with split pearl set bezel reveals the visible balance cock. Black enamel fret board, gold wire strings and pearl-set pegs. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold "spade" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat spring and regulator. Gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Diam. 65 x 28 mm.
