Hri. Grandjean & Cie, (Le Locle), Swiss, No. 34583, made for C. Marcks & Co. Ltd, Bombay and Poona, circa 1890. Very fine 18K gold hunting cased, moon phase astronomical keyless minute repeating watch with perpetual calendar and chronograph, made for the Indian Market.

C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets " , fully chased with foliage and formal decoration. Hinged gold cuvette partly engraved with flowers. D. Silver with Roman numerals, outer minute and chronograph rings, sunk subsidiary dials for days of the week, months of the leap-year cycle, dates and subsidiary seconds with inner moon phase aperture, engraved with foliage border and centre with gold cast floral decoration. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Glazed 20'" , gilt brass, 31 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Chronograph with visible work, the push piece in the band. Signed on dial and movement by the Indian retailer, Grandjean Trademark on the case. Diam. 59 mm.
