P. Ltre, French, No. 930, circa 1880. Very fine white marble and gilt bronze, hour and halfhour striking moon phase astronomical mantel regulator with perpetual calendar, equation of time indication and visible escapement.

C. Gilt bronze, rectangular, "corniche" type, glazed four sides with moulded white marble base and top. D. White enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer minute ring, the escapement fitted on the sunk centre. Blued steel Breguet hands. Subsidiary perpetual calendar dial with white enamel chapter ring for the months with equation of time indications, moon phase aperture on the sunk centre with above subsidiary dials for the dates and clays of the week. Blued steel hands. Gilt brass dial plate engraved with scrolls of foliage. M. Brass inverted "mouvement de Paris " with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, Brocot escapement with jewelled pallets, half seconds beating Brocot patented compensation pendulum with Brocot suspension, striking on a bell. Independent calendar train, released by the striking train of the clock movement. Signature punched on both movements. Dim. 37 x 21 x 16 cm.
