Lefaucheur, Horloger du Roy a Paris, circa 1780. Very fine and rare small ormolu mounted white marble eight day going, hour and half-hour striking mantle clock with music.
C. Rectangular white marble musical base standing on four gilt bronze feet, the front and side panels applied with a fine gilt bronze foliage decoration. The movement above the base is flanked by gilt bronze floral ornaments and surmounted by a vase of flowers. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Fine Louis XV paste-set hands. M. Brass circular "mouvement de Paris" with going barrel both for the going and the striking train, anchor escapement with short pendulum, silk suspension. Striking on a bell, count wheel on the back plate with concentric wheel to release the musical train each hour. Musical movement: Brass full plate with fusee and chain, fly regulator and external pin cylinder, playing on eight bells via eight hammers. Signed on the dial. Dim. 51,5 x 33,5 x 12, 5
