Pompejo in Wien, circa 1850. "Memento Mori" Fine silver watch in form of a skull, in the 17th century style with matching silver chain.
C. Double body, designed as a skull, the jaw opening to reveal the dial protected by a glass, hinged silver bezel. Silver chain made of crossed tibias. D. Silver champleve with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring with arched divisions. Blued steel "poker and beetle " hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Signed on the back plate. Dim. 35 x 40 mm.
