Leroy, No. 272, sold to the French Navy in 1867. Fine 49 hour going mahogany marine chronometer with power reserve indicator.

C. Three body mahogany box with external handles, the glazed upper section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimballed suspension. D. Silvered with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring subsidiary seconds and Up-and-Down sector, marked: Depot de la Marine. Gilt brass "pear " hands. M. Frosted and gilt, full plate with cylindrical pillars secured by screws, Dumas ebauclte No. 741, inverted fusee with maintaining power, later mainspring made by Ducommun, dated 1892, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, two armed bimetallic compensation balance with cylindrical weights and timing screws, diamond end-stone, free sprung polished steel helical balance spring. Signed on the dial and mahogany box. Dial diam. 92 mm. Dim. 16,5 x 16,5 x 17,5 cm.
