C. Architectural burr walnut moulded rectangular with moulded pediment. D. Gilt-brass chapter ring with Roman numerals, half-hour divisions and outer Arabic minutes ring. Brass hour and steel minutes hands. Gilt-brass dial plate, the centre finely engraved with a countryside landscape with inscription: A Hora sic dies nastri super terram, concerning Gods who are above the Earth, foliage decoration on the top corners, coat-of-arms on the lower ones, the lower border with inscription: Indite me quoties sugrentes conspicis horns to toties gressu Mors propiore pronit, point out to me: every time that you observe the hours that go by, it is Death which is drawing always closer to you. Brass plumb line on the top left corner. M. Brass trapezoidal with cylindrical pillars, going barrel, verge escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Dim. 59 x 53 x 28 cm.
