French, circa 1830. Very fine eight day going rose-wood hour and half hour striking, Charles X, Oeil de Boeuf.

C. Octagonal rose-wood with gilt brass bezel and loose-ring pendant, inlaid with lemon-wood foliate decoration. D. Frosted silvered with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Gilt brass circular, Mouvement de Paris, going barrel both on the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, short pendulum with spring suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate. Diam. 40 cm.
