Swiss, made in the area of Neuchatel, circa 1790. Fine gilt bronze Grande and Petite Sonnerie striking, quarter repeating Pendule d'Officiers with alarm.
C. Gilt bronze, with paw feet, engine-turned bezel, the pediment with applied foliage decoration, side panels applied with fleurons, folding serpent handle at the top. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Blued steel hands. M. Circular gilt brass with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, steel three-arm balance, flat balance cock, gilt brass plain continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Quarter striking and repeating on two bells with the striking train fitted on the back plate, cord released for repeating at will; pull wound alarm, striking on a bell, Grande/Petite sonnerie, Strike/Silent lever in the base. Dim. 23.5 x 12.5x 8 cm.
