Notes

According to the inscription "Fecit", engraved on the back plate and the lack of any serial number, this watch was certainly specially commissioned with a solid gold movement or produced as an exhibition piece, such as a few watches produced on the continent or in the U.S.A. towards the end of the 19th century. No other English watch from the beginning of the 19th century, fitted with a solid gold movement, is known to exist.
