Piguet Meylan, Geneva, No. 2683, circa 1820. Fine 18K gold, quarter repeating musical watch with centre seconds, accompanied by a gold cornelian set matching key.
C. Three body, "forme quatre baguettes", the band, bezels, pendant and bow chased with floral decoration, the engine-turned back centred with matching chased decoration. Hinged gilt-brass cuvette. Matching gold key decorated en suite and set with a plaque of cornelian. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds ring. Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. Gilt-brass double train with free standing going barrels, inverted cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator. Pin-disc musical train with 29 tuned still teeth, playing on the hour or at will. Quarter repeating on two gongs by depressing the pendant. Trade Mark and serial number punched on the front plate, beneath the dial, also, numbered inside the back. Diam. 61 mm.
