C. Three body, Empire, polished with reeded band, the list of the successive owners engraved inside the spring loaded cover released by means of a button in the band. D. Gold engine-turned with Roman numerals on a polished chapter ring. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, plain gilt brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with Breguet type bimetallic compensation curb on the index. Repeating on the case with pull-twist piston through the pendant. Gilt brass dust cap. Signed on the dust cap and back plate. Diam. 56 mm.

Notes

Although it was entirely produced in England, including the case which carries London hallmarks, this watch was made in the French contemporary style, including the dial, certainly at the request of the owners (from their name, seemingly of French origin) who were not able to purchase the watch in France which was at war with England at that time. Recordon used to be the agent of Breguet in London and in spite of the movement, which is typically English, the case, the dial, the pull-twist piston through the pendant and the compensation curb on the index are clearly in the Breguet style.
