The Dolphin D(avi)d Gide, Geneva, , circa 1810. Very fine and rare, 18K gold and enamel form watch in the shape of a dolphin, with concealed dial.

C. Two-body, ?fermée? type, carp-shaped, spring-loaded front cover reveals the dial, both sides identically decorated with champlevé enamel simulating scales. D. White enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic quarters. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 21 mm, hinged, gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved, rack and pinion regulator with a silver plate.Dial and movement signed.Dim. 33 mm x 45 mm.
