Spectacular Australian Black Opal Necklace
Set with a rare, very fine, pear-shaped, double-sided, solid opal weighing 29.39 cts., which, when viewed on one side, exhibits a predominantly green and blue, large harlequin color pattern, and when viewed on the obverse side, exhibits broad rolling red flashes within a pinpoint color pattern of predominantly red, orange, yellow, green and blue "fire". The opal is held in a handmade, semi-rigid, sectional necklace having a Calla lily motif; the custom designed frame, or basket, which holds thepal, is hinged on the back, allowing the opal to be removed and inserted with either side facing out, mounted in 18K yellow gold, measuring approx. 15 1/4 inches (39 cm).Accompanied by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) report # 1932586 stating that this is a natural opal, natural color, one piece, not a doublet.
