Mathey Peytieu, Locle, No. 5203, circa 1850.Fine 18K gold hunting-cased,12 hour recorder, independent dead-seconds watch with two motion trains.
C. Four-body, 'forme quatre baguettes', engine-turned, front centered with blank cartouche, hinged gold cuvette. D. Gold with two small symmetrical Roman chapter rings, and small subsidiary seconds. Gold 'arrow' hands.M. 19???, bar, gilded, double train, lateral club-tooth lever escapement, steel escape wheel, bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring with index regulator, 29 jewels. Independent dead center-seconds by means of a flirt on the escape pinion and through activating bolt in the band. One motion train is driven directly from the independent seconds train in order to be used as hour and minute recorders.Signed on the cuvette, case stamped 'G.C & Co'.Diam. 52 mm.
