C. Rectangular with rounded corners, engine-turned, borders and corners with dark blue champlevé enamelled foliage decoration over a matted ground. Hinged base panel for the key compartment. The gold singing bird cover chased in high relief with the profile figure of an emperor over a matted ground, outer black champlevé enamelled laurel branches against a matted ground. Inner engine-turned cover. Singing bird movement: Rectangular plates with turned pillars, fusee with chain, rectangular bellowthe bird with moving wings, tail, beak and turning head, controlled by a stack of 8 cams, gold engraved grill.Signed with the Rochat FR punch mark on the back plate.Dim. 89 x 58 x 31 mm.
