In April 1958, the Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Srurl El Sabban visited the Universal stand at the Basel Fair and subsequently ordered about 50 examples of this watch bearing the effigy of King Faysal. This model represents the most advanced technology of Universal at the time, because it embodied three patented innovations.
