MATHEY-TISSOT FOR BLACK, STARR & FROST PENDULETTE DE VOYAGE A REPETITION MINUTES E. Mathey-Tissot & Co., Swiss, "Pendulette de voyage a repetition minutes", No. 12175, retailed by Black,Starr & Frost, New York. Made circa 1910. Fine and rare, silver-gilt, champlevé enamel and malachite, 8-day going, minute repeating desk clock with painted dial.
C. Rectangular arch-top silver-gilt, the front, sides and top decorated with green and black champlevé enamel, silver bezel and back door, standing on a stepped rectangular malachite base, agate push-piece. D. Oval ivory with radial black Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, the center painted in watercolor with a landscape scene. Black and green enameled gilt hands. M. Rhodium plated, rectangular with going barrel, platform with straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the push piece on the top. Case and movement signed, case also signed by the retailer. Dim. 76 x 57 x 43 mm.
