The Butterfly Unsigned, Geneva, circa 1800. Very fine and amusing 18K gold and enamel emerald- and pearl-set, concealed dial form watch in the shape of a butterfly.
C. Two-body, ?fermée? type, both sides with multi-colored champlevé and painted enamel of many tones, with pearl- and emerald-set thorax, ruby-set eyes, pearl-set antennae. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions with Arabic 15 minute numerals. Gold ?spearhead? hands. M. 22 mm ø, hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock. Dim. Length 34 mm, width 37 mm.
