AT THE TAVERN, EROTIC SNUFF BOX French. Made circa 1820. Fine and rare, papier mache snuff box with two concealed erotic scenes.

C. Three-body, black papier mache, circular, the lid painted over a print base with a scene of a young man being led away from outside a tavern by an old woman, the interior lining of the box unscrews to reveal two erotic scenes, one involving two ladies in an interior, the other of a young couple in the cooper?s workshop. Diam. 89 mm.
