BOVET CARRIAGE CLOCK Bovet Frères a Fleurier, No. 4059. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1870. Fine, gilt brass, painted on enamel and paste-set, 8-day going, hour and half hour striking, hour repeating carriage clock with indirect center-seconds and alarm.

Gilt brass, multi-piece, glazed on three sides and the top, entirely engraved, set with pastes and a painted on enamel plaque decorated with fl owers on a green ground on the base, the back door and below set with a further six plaques, hinged handle. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, alarm dial below with radial Roman numerals. Blued steel trefoil hands. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels on both trains, gearing for the center-seconds on the back plate, fi nely engraved platform with lateral lever escapement, bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator, striking on a bell. Dial and movement signed. Dim. 20 x 12 x 9.5 cm.
