GIRARD PERREGAUX ? DOUBLE DIAL ? TRIPLE CALENDAR Girard Perregaux, Chaux-de-Fonds, No. 78275, made for the South American market, circa 1890. Very fine, impressive and rare, 18K gold, open-cased, keyless, astronomical double-face pocket watch with calendar and phases of the moon.
C. Three-body, heavy, reeded band, hinged bezels on both sides with correctors underneath the bezel for the calendar. D. Silver, radial Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, center and outermost track with applied varicolored gold matte fl oral motifs. Blued steel cathedral hands. Reverse: Silver, two subsidiary dials for days of the week and months, phases of the moon aperture at 12, outermost Arabic date scale. M. 43 mm (19???), maillechort, damascened with radial pattern, 17 jewels, fi nished calendar plate, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring. Both dials signed, movement double signed. Diam. 53 mm. Thickness 22 mm.
