Quarter-Repeating Watch With Three Concealed Erotic Scenes Austrian, probably Vienna. Made circa 1880. Unusual, large quarter-repeating silver and enamel pocket watch with three painted on enamel erotic scenes.

Four-body, "bassine", engraved bezel, reeded band, enamelled Renaissance style bow, the back cover decorated with a painted on enamel scene from classical mythology, the interior decorated with a graphic erotic scene. Hinged cuvette decorated on both sides with further erotic scenes. D. Gilt with white champleve enamel chapter ring, blue radial champleve Roman numerals on gilt cartouches, the center with a painted on enamel scene of three cupids in a landscape. Gilt brass hands. M. Matte gilt, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm balance with flat balance spring, continental balance cock, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Diam. 59 mm.
