Loehr ? Swiss, circa 1885. A rare 18-carat gold case patented self-winding watch for the South American market, retailed by Alejandro Volpini.
Four body massive "demi-bassine et filet" case, the engine turned back engraved with a monogram. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and up and down scale. Blued steel pear hands. Gilt brass typical 18Loehr movement, 15 jewels, right angle lever escapement, cut bimetaIIic balance. The winding weight, pivoted on the edge of the back plate operates in both sides. In good condition. Diam. 52 mm.
