Golay Fils & Stahl, Genève, No 30115, circa 1890. Very rare and unusual minute repeating keyless moon phase astronomical watch with a digital perpetual calendar and a split second chronograph with an instantaneous 30 minute recorder.
Three body massive "demi-bassine" polished case with inset hinges. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph rings, aperture for the days of the week, the dates and the months, subsidiary dial for the minute register, the leap year cycle and the subsidiary seconds with a inner moon phase aperture. Blued steel "spade" hands. Very fine nickel plated 19movement, "fausses côtes" decoration, 36 jewels, equilibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs by means of a slide on the band. The split second chronograph with a visible work the push piece and a bolt on the band. Signed on the dial, the cuvette, and the movement.
