William Gib, Rotterdam, circa 1720. Large 18-carat gold triple repoussé case calendar watch.

Shark skin covered double body protecting case (very slightly damaged). Fine double body outer case repoussé with a scene depicting a soldier and three musicians in a garden, the border with four musician cupids and further scroll decoration. Plain double body polished bassine inner case. Gold "champlevé" dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, aperture for the dates above figure "6". Blued steel poker and beetle hands. Fine gilt brass full plate movement with tulip pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, polished steel three armed balance, fine English cock pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage.
