Robert & Courvoisier, Swiss, circa 1790. Rare small ormolu striking and repeating "pendule d'officiers" with alarm.
Gilt bronze case with engine-turned bezel, large fleurons on each sides and further floral decoration, four feet in form of claws, snake handle. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals. Gold "croissant" hands. Double level movement set between three paltes, cylindrical pillars, the going train with fusee and chain, verge espacement, plain three armed brass balance, brass continental cock and polished steel endpiece. The alarm, and the hour and half hour striking trains with fixed barrels, the striking train is released at will by means of a string. In good condition. Dim. 135 x 87 mm.
