French, Royal Exchange, London, No. 10458, bearing the London Hall Marks for 1843/44. Heavy 18-carat gold hunting cased minute repeating watch with a special escapement.
Five body massive "demi-bassine carrure ronde" engineturned case with reeded band. Gold cuvette. Silver dial engraved with flowers and foliage, with raised gold Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, outer gilt cast garland of foliage. Blued steel "Breguet" hands. 17"' gilt brass three quarter plate movement, 23 jewels, fusee with maintaining power, English duplex escapement with cut bimetallic balance. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. In very good condition. Diam.: 55 mm.
